Privacy policy

This site is operated by Lone Star Hemp Coalition ("we", "us"). We are the party responsible for the information collected here. This policy describes what the site actually does.
What we collect
We only collect what you type into one of our three forms:
- Contact form: your name, email address, topic and message.
- Membership form: your name, email address, organization (optional), the type of member you are, ZIP code and message (optional).
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address, which page you signed up from, and whether and when you confirmed or unsubscribed.
With each submission we also record the time and your IP address. We use the IP address to limit abuse (rate limiting) and we keep it with the submission record.
How we use it
- To read and answer your message or membership request.
- To send the newsletter and action alerts you confirmed you want.
- To keep the forms free of spam and abuse.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Where it goes
- Storage: form submissions and the subscriber list are stored with Cloudflare, which hosts this site.
- Email delivery: contact and membership messages are emailed to the coalition's inbox, and newsletter confirmation and update emails are sent to you, through SendGrid (Twilio). We turn off SendGrid's open and click tracking.
- Bot protection: our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. Turnstile runs in your browser when a form loads and sends signals about your browser to Cloudflare. It does not use advertising cookies.
Analytics and cookies
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and does not track you across sites. We don't use advertising cookies, social media pixels or other tracking pixels, and our emails don't contain open trackers.
Newsletter and unsubscribing
We use double opt-in: after you sign up, we send one email asking you to confirm. Nothing else is sent until you confirm. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect right away.
How long we keep it
We keep submissions and the subscriber list for as long as we need them to run the coalition. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of your address marked as unsubscribed so we don't email you again. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, send us a request through our contact form. We'll respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change how the site handles your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
